Weekend Progress!

This Saturday we finished the roof of the house. Had a 2man crew finish up the sheathing. Too bad it was just 1 day after a lot of rain .. so the interior was soaked unfortunately. Spent a bit of time getting water out of the lower floor mudroom.

Finishing up the last of the sheathing on the roof

How its looking from the road
Sunday I only had a few hours to work but we put it to good use with a little family help.. Started with the exterior air sealing and housewrap. Using 3M 8067 All Weather Flashing Tape, & Tyvek Commercial-D housewrap. Got to use a Stinger brand cap nailer for the wrap too.

Air sealing seams ahead of the Tyvek
with this crazy 3M tape (stickiest tape I've ever used)

Tyvek Commercial-D drain wrap (the crinkled stuff)

Made it around 1 corner

then a few others..
This was only about half way around the main floor story. But the rest requires extensive use of very tall ladders! Windows openings are ready for my expensive flexwrap tape. Then windows go in then flashing tape. We're almost dried in!

Trusses being put up

Day one of truss lifting started with plumbing and bracing all the interior walls. I of course just wanted to see the trusses standing up. But unfortunately I'll have to be patient.

those back trusses are actually standing up!

Trusses being delivered!

This was a big day. Our roof trusses were delivered. We had thought there was no way we could get the boom truck to drop the trusses on top of the roof deck. But with some interesting positioning and crane operator skill they were very successfull at unloading all the roof trusses up even through all the trees. Here are pics of the day:

Nailguns and Poker

Here are a few pictures from last weekend. Sorry for the late posting, but I've been so busy this week with the kids and the build. This was during Rigo's organized Nailguns n Poker day.

We had a bunch of us who could make it out participate  in doing the shear nailing schedules/screwing/hanger nailing. Was fun for me. Hope you all had a similar good time.

This weekend's pictures:

It was a very long weekend for me. Spent Fri/Sat/Sun on site helping to put up walls, haul lumber, and cleanup. You can finally see the shape and size of the house and get a feel of what kind of view you will have. Next up is interior walls, then roof trusses, windows/doors..
