Some finishing pictures

I realized just looking at the site that there wasn't a good series of shots showing the 'finished' result outside the house. So here's a few:

Neighbors

So every morning we're greeted outside our bedroom by deer. I think they like our house very much. We often find them licking our windows I'm not quite certain why.

HERS rating...

This weekend we did the blower door test as well as duct leakage and overall leakage. Our energy rater Steve stated this is the tightest house he's tested. I'm assuming thats a pretty good thing. :-) Hopefully all that will show up on our low PG&E bills..

These were required to pass our final. I think they came out looking quite nice. They are made from mossrock. I think it will blend in nicely with the hillside once we have the plantings in.

We were able to move some of our things in.. I've been so busy I haven't been able to post in the last couple of weeks. I promise I'll get some pictures of the outside together. Here's the only one I've found on my phone.

You can start to see the inside come together. This is the kitchen area of the great room.

Finishing work

Its been a while since I've posted. Its just been crazy trying to line up and get the finish work done.
We've got the floors mostly down and the trim going in. A couple of the rooms are actually all the way done. Appliances and countertops are in and finish electric is going on.  And we just bought what will be our stair treads just yesterday..

So this happened..

While carrying a load of dirt from up the hill a truck lost its brakes and careened into the side of the hill which then caught fire. Luckily no one was hurt and the fire department quickly contained the fire. But what a mess!

Kitchen and flooring beginnings..

We got our cabinets most of the way hung. And we had the distinct pleasure of lugging 85 boxes of this very heavy flooring upstairs.

Bathroom Tile

Tile guys have been working hard the last week. Tile floors are all in and the shower and tub walls are nearly done.

I have floors being delivered this week, doors, trim and cabinets are also in the house ready to be installed.
And guess what ?  A driveway may be in our near future!

From the pictures you can see the challenge of the solar panel location.. its only a 2.7kw system but it should take care of most of the house energy use.

Next steps: we should have rock going up the front face this weekend, last stucco coat going on with the integral color, and trenching should start for the sewer connection. Oh and tile is going in on the inside!

Stucco - Scratch Coat

So this weekend the stucco work began. The 'scratch coat' is on!
Inside, the mudding continues. This week they should finish and the texturing will start inside. Afterwards is paint. I'm scheduling the cabinets and floors to show up soon therafter.
